One of the most memorable homes I've had the opportunity to photograph, this 1874 Grand Rapids landmark seamlessly blends historic craftsmanship with modern luxury. Originally built as the Paul H. Richens House, the property later became the Grand Rapids Study Clubhouse, home to one of the city's oldest African American women's organizations. The house was officially recognized as a historic landmark in 1985 and remains one of Grand Rapids' most distinctive historic residences. Inside, the home showcases: Original hardwood floors and intricate millwork, a dramatic winding staircase, 10-foot ceilings and oversized windows that flood every room with natural light, a marble fireplace and stunning stained-glass built-ins, a fully renovated kitchen and luxury primary suite that preserve the home's character while offering modern comfort. Photographing a property with this much architectural detail and history was an incredible experience.
